What one minute is good for
A minute is long enough to feel and short enough that nobody argues with it. Teachers use it for quick-write warm-ups and 'turn and talk'; coaches use it for plank and wall-sit intervals.
- Minute-to-win-it classroom games
- Plank, wall sit or skipping intervals
- Speed rounds in a quiz
- Timing a one-minute speech or elevator pitch

Questions and answers
How do I run several one-minute rounds?
Press Reset after each round, then Start. The timer goes back to one minute each time, so you can run as many rounds as you need with two key presses: R, then the space bar.
Is a one-minute timer accurate to the second?
Yes. It counts from your computer's clock rather than adding up ticks, so it stays exact even if the browser slows the tab down.
Is this 1 minute timer free?
Yes, free with no sign-up and no app to install. It runs in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer.
Free to use, runs in your browser, nothing uploaded. Last updated 2026-10-07. Made by HandyToolkits; questions to [email protected].
