How to use the time zone converter
- Choose the From city and the To city.
- Type a date and time in the From city; the converted time appears at once.
- Add more cities to see the whole day side by side and find an hour that suits everyone.
The five-country problem
A team spread across the US, Canada, the UK, Singapore and Australia has no hour in the day when everyone is at a desk: when it is 9am in Sydney it is 11pm in London and 6pm in New York. The grid makes the trade-off visible: you can see at once that a 7am call in Los Angeles is 3pm in London, 10pm in Singapore and 1am in Sydney, and pick the least-bad slot deliberately.

Daylight saving traps
The US and Canada change clocks in the second week of March and the first week of November; the UK and Europe in the last weeks of March and October; Sydney and Melbourne in the first week of October and the first week of April; Singapore, Brisbane, Perth and most of Asia never. For a few weeks each spring and autumn the usual gap between two cities is an hour off. The grid uses the real rules for the date you choose, so it is right in those weeks too.
Questions and answers
How do I find a meeting time that works for everyone?
Add each city, then read the grid: green cells are office hours (9am to 6pm), amber is early morning or evening, grey is night. The line under the grid names the hours where everyone is at work. Click any column to set that time.
Does it handle daylight saving time?
Yes. Times come from the browser's own time-zone database, which knows when each place changes its clocks, including the awkward weeks when the US has changed but Europe has not, or when Sydney and London are both mid-switch.
Can I send this to a colleague?
Press 'Copy link'. The link contains the cities and the chosen time, so the other person opens exactly the same view and can see the time in their own city.
Can I convert to the half hour or quarter hour?
Yes. Type any time, for example 10:30 or 14:45, in the date and time box. The result is exact to the minute; the grid underneath works by the hour and highlights the hour that contains your time.
Which city is 'home'?
The 'From' city, shown in the first row of the grid. The date and time you type are in that city's time. Press the house symbol on any row to make it the From city.
